ST/ 06: 15 Days Sikkim Singelila to Goche-la :

The original Sikkim- Singelila trek has been modified to avoid crossing into Nepal, due to security concerns. Starting from Uterey, at 1800 m, and avoiding the the spine of the Singelila Range, the trek crosses from the Khalej Khola Valley across the 2680 m high Naythem Ridge, to descends to the Rimbi Khola Valley, at Chongri Village, 2175 m. Thereafter begins an steep four days climb to attain the Dapheybir ridge, 4420m. Thereafter following the ancient grazing trail of the yak herdsmen, we trek through the grazing grounds of Gomathang, 3735 and Pangding, 4210, to reach Dzongri meadows, on the ninth day. Baring the village of Chongri, there is no habitation. It is the domain of lakes, glacial valleys, gurgling streams, cascades, chiseled snow peaks, yak pastures, forests, Rhododendrons, wildlife, birds, and breathtaking views of 6000 to 8000 m high peaks of the Khangchendzonga group. From Dzongri the trek continues along the Praig chu valley, finally climbing the Goche-la pass at 5000 m, for close up views of Khangchendzonga, glaciers and other great peaks. The return route is via Tshokha to Yoksum.

ST/ 07: 08 Days Barsey (Vershay) Rhododendron Sanctuary Trek :

Away from crowds, moderately paced, this is rated by us, as the best trekking experience in Sikkim. After a day exploring the village of Rinchenpong with its wooded walks, and ancient monastery, the trek starts at the picturesque Sikkimese village of Hee- Bermoik, 1800 m, and traverses through the upper reaches of the Rhododendron Sanctuary to the Everest view point at Phoktey Dara. 3733 m, to finally descend to the Khalej Valley and visit the Pamayangtse Monastery. A dream trail for nature lovers. the sanctuary supports a wide variety of habitat comprising Sub-tropical, Mixed broadleaf, conifer, and Alpine. Walk through pristine forests of Silver Fir, hemlocks, magnolia, and Rhododendrons. Breathtaking views of Mount Khangchendzonga, and the Mount Everest group, river valleys, picturesque camping, More than 200 species of birds, and a range of mammals - Leopard, Leopard-cat, Yellow throated Marten, Palm Civet, Goral, Barking Deer, Himalayan Black Bear, Wild boar, Red Panda, Flying squirrel, Crestless porcupine, Himalayan mouse- hare and others.
